If you are a citizen of a country, which is not a member of the European Union (EU), and wish to work as an Au Pair in Sweden you must have a work permit sticker attached to you passport before entering the country.
Please ensure that your passport does not expire during your stay in Sweden. The expiration date of your permit (if granted) may not extend beyond the expiration date of your passport.
Please submit the following documents:
2 copies of Apllication by Au Pair (form #131011), completed. Signed and dated.
National passport or other travel documents
passport photos, colour or black/white
2 copies of employment offer from the host family including (1) no more than 25 hours/week of housework. (2) Swedish language studies during a significant portion of the remaining time (an acceptance letter from the school must be included with the application. (3) Room and board and (4) a minimum monthly salary of 3500SEK.
Application fee and return postage in the form of one money order or certified bank check, payable to Consulate General of Sweden - personal checks will be returned.

An estimated time of 2 to 3 months is usually required to process your application.
